Placement Criteria:

When assigning students to specific classes, the principal or designee shall strive to provide the best possible learning environment for each student. Assignment to classes is a lengthy process which involves a team effort by the staff and administration. Multiple factors are considered in student placement, including:

· Gender

· Academic performance and ability

· School and classroom behavior

· Placement with, or separation from, other student(s)

· Special needs (i.e. special education programs, English as a second language, health issues, emotional needs, learning styles, including extenuating circumstances that

will remain confidential)

· Class size

· Parent input
